Cancellation Policy

Guests must cancel by 3pm, 48 hours prior to arrival to avoid a penalty of one night’s room and tax.

Reservations with pre-paid rates and other limited exclusions will be subject to the rate offer rules communicated at the time of reservation. Please note that changes to the reservation will be subject to availability and any rate differences.

Please note on the cancellation policies listed above:

  • Some exclusions may apply. May exclude periods with special event restrictions or peak demand weeks. Please refer to individual property rate rules for details.
  • For individual reservations booked into a pre-existing group block, please refer to cancellation terms quoted at the time of reservation. For more information, please contact the group organizer or the hotel.
  • Please note that this policy does not apply to travel associated with a Group booking. For guests with Group reservations (e.g., for meetings, events or conferences), please review the booking rate rules and contact the group organizer/hotel for more information.
  • Guests who booked via online travel agents or other third-party travel professionals are advised to contact their booking provider directly for further information.
Guaranteed Reservation

Reservations must be guaranteed with a valid credit card at time of booking. Please note, special event dates may have modified deposit and cancellation policies. These rate specific policies will be noted in the price breakdown & policies section. A government issued photo ID will be required at time of check-in. To cover incidentals, $200 will be authorized on your credit card per day of stay. This will be in the form of a hold on your credit card and will be removed at the end of your stay, should there not be any incidentals.

Early Arrival / Late Departure / Early Departure

Check-in time is 3:00 pm and check-out time is 12:00 pm. Arriving early or need that extra hour of sleep? We’ll do our very best to accommodate your request based on availability – kindly let us know in advance. If unavailable, we’ll gladly stow your luggage safely and securely, until you’re ready to move on. Late check-out fees may apply. If you check out or leave before your scheduled departure date, there is a fee of one night’s stay plus tax.

Taxes & Fees

Room rates are subject to the following nightly fees:

Hotel Occupancy Tax of 17.00% per night

State Cost Recovery Fee of 0.61425% per night

Daily Destination Amenity Fee of $45 plus tax which includes:

  • Premium Wi-Fi throughout the property
  • In-room Nespresso machine
  • In-room fabric steamer
  • 24-hour fitness center access with Peloton, Tonal, and Pilates Reformers
  • Yoga and group fitness classes (schedule varies)
  • City Bikes (upon availability)
  • eLECTRA Bike rentals (upon availability)
  • Proper sustainable Boxed Water,
  • Morning Coffee service in Goldie’s
  • Access to rooftop pool
No-Cash Policy

For the convenience and safety of our guests, our hotel operates as a cashless property. We accept all major credit cards, debit cards, and contactless payment methods such as Apple Pay and Google Pay. This allows for a seamless and efficient experience throughout your stay. Should you have any questions or need assistance with payment options, our team is happy to assist.

Pet Policy

Pets are always welcome at Austin Proper Hotel. With every pet stay, Proper will help a pet in need by donating 10% of your pet fee to our local no-kill shelter, Austin Pet’s Alive.

Pet Policy Details:

  • $100 one time, non-refundable fee per dog, per stay
  • 2 dogs max per room
  • Max weight of 45 lb per pet
  • Sorry, no cats
  • Additional fees may apply for deep cleaning or damages that occur

Parking Policy

Hotel Guest Fees:

  • Overnight – $59 + tax/ per car

Non-Hotel Guest Fees

  • $27.06 reduced rate for restaurant parking
  • $32.48 for meetings and visiting hotel guests
Smoking Policy

Austin Proper is a non-smoking hotel. Smoking is prohibited in public areas, food and beverage outlets and guest rooms. In the event smoking occurs in a guest room, a cleaning fee of $400 will be assessed per room, per night.

Photo Policy

We love our spaces just as much as you do — and we’re so happy you’re excited to photograph and share! With that in mind, we ask you please respect our highly-designed spaces and the privacy of our hotel guests and visitors while taking any images. Our goal is to create a one-of-a-kind Proper experience for all!

Mobile phone photography is permitted with limitations:

  • No more than 5 minutes of dedicated photo taking please
  • Privacy and respect for hotel guests must be observed at all times.
  • Doors, hallways, passages, elevators, etc. may not be blocked for any reason.
  • Spaces must remain 100% intact – furniture, design elements, seating, etc. cannot be moved, rearranged, or stood on.
  • Respect for the working staff must be considered at all times
